Chapter 41 -

Continuing to hold Chris against her, Gardevoirs tears streamed along her face, dripping down onto his as she
slid her hand along his mangled body. He was so broken up... And yet he was still able to push himself to stand
and stop her... Giving him a hug, all Gardevoir could do was repeatedly say "I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." as she
shuddered, Servine watching for a moment before slowly walking up to the two. Making a nervous sound, she reached
out to touch Chris herself as well, only for Gardevoir to jerk him away and shake her head. "No touch... Nobody
touch... Mine..." she sobbed, Servine looking up at her sadly. Walking around him, she put a hand on Gardevoir,
making another concerned sound. "...You. You can... Touch..." Gardevoir responded, loosening her grip on Chris
and facing Servine, reaching out to her and lifting her up in an arm. "I hurt... Enemies... But hurt him... Too.
I'm... Bad...?" she asked, facing down with a sad and lost expression. Looking at her, Servine put her hand on
Gardevoirs, giving it a pat while making a reassuring sound in response. "...Not...Bad...?" Gardevoir muttered,
rubbing Chris on the head. "No... I am... Bad... But... Will practice... Be better..." she told Servine, giving
her a pat on the head. "Thank you... Won't scare... Again... Never attack... You... Promise..." she told Servine
in a choked up tone, trying to smile only for her lips to quiver as she began crying again. "I'm sorry... I'm
sorry..." she repeated, Servine looking up at her and making an "its alright..." noise, holding her hand once
again before looking down at Chris and holding his hand as well.

However... As they sat in silence, Gardevoir suddenly let out a jolt, facing different directions and clutching
Chris once again as her teeth grit. "Something... Coming..." she growled, Servine looking around confused before
hearing the sound as well, seemingly coming from the sky nearby. Slowly the sound became louder and louder... And
next thing they knew, something bright suddenly flashed on from above them, causing Servine to scream and cover
her head in panic as Gardevoir sensed the strong light coming from above and faced up, feeling the wind around
them beginning to swirl faster and faster as the sound came even closer from above. "Get away!! Get away!!" she
screamed, suddenly throwing her hand up in the air and forming a Shadow Ball in her palm, firing it into the air
as a warning and causing the sound to drift into a different direction. "This is the Millennium City police!!
Cease and desist your attack and back away from the human or we will respond with force!!" she heard. Finally
looking up, Servine saw a helicopter, with several humans in uniforms leaning out of it, looking back down at
them as they shined the light over the three once again. In a panic, Servine suddenly jumped out of Gardevoirs
grasp, shaking her head and waving her hands rapidly while shouting back. "We're landing now!! Remain still or
we will respond accordingly!!" they shout, the copter slowly coming to the ground as several people jumped out,
weapons in hand as they grouped around them. "Looks like a rogue Pokemon... See the blood...? The man looks
unresponsive... Several other Pokemon were found severely wounded nearby as well. No casualties but its clear a
violent attack went down..." one of the officers muttered before another called out to them, pointing out the
spot where Chris landed still covered in his blood. "Looks like the man fell from above. A campsite was spotted
above here." the officer told the others.

As the group stepped closer towards Chris and Gardevoir, she suddenly screamed "stay back!!" once again, forming
another Shadow Ball causing the officers to ready their weapons, Servine freaking out and running up to
Gardevoir, pulling on her arm to get her to lower her hand and relax. "The Gardevoir is extremely hostile. Its
covered in blood but its hard to tell if it came from the man or from the Pokemon, could be its own blood. Maybe
in a state of anxiety over the man being unresponsive...? The two seem to be the mans companions... Orders?" another
officer muttered as Gardevoir slowly relaxed, cancelling out her Shadow Ball and holding Chris close once more.
With a sigh, Servine walked away from her and up to the officers, waving her hands and trying to talk to them
nervously. "I think that's affirmative. Contact the hospital and let them know we have an unresponsive male, seems
early 20's on his way. Call the center and tell them we have a large group of wild Pokemon, likely in critical
condition as well needing rescue asap." another officer ordered, part of the group returning to the helicopter to
radio the city and bring a stretcher towards Chris and Gardevoir. Sensing them up close, she let out a shout,
suddenly laying him down and leaning her body over him on all fours with a growl as if a wild Pokemon herself.
Running up, Servine tried to reason with Gardevoir and get her to relax, only for her to pull Servine under her
as well while her eyes began to glow. "Humans... Pokemon... All dangerous... No trust... Won't kill... But will...
Will attack..." she growled, Servine grabbing onto her arm tightly as the officers looked at one another. "The
man looks to be in critical condition. If we don't get him into the city now he could be a goner." one of the
officers muttered. "Its just doing its job... We didn't bring anything to sedate it with though... Should we...?"
another officer asked, raising its weapon only for another to push it back down.

Facing different directions, Gardevoir thought over what she heard the officers saying, slowly lowering herself
down on his body. "You... Help...? No... Trust... I watch... All of you... Wrong move... I'll attack..." she sneered,
slowly crawling back and standing properly while pulling Servine up in her arms as her eyes glowed. Looking at
one another, the officers made their way up to Chris, quickly trying to grab him only for Gardevoir to scream at
them, making them jolt and move cautiously, easing him onto the stretcher and lifting him. "Get him to the copter.
The sooner he gets to the city the better..." one of the officers muttered, the two holding him nodding and taking
him off. "What about these two...? Bring them...? If that Gardevoir loses control, we're all going down..." an
officer muttered, Gardevoir facing the one who said it causing the officers to jolt and yank up their weapons.
"No lose... Control... Won't attack... If help fast..." she responded, muttering to Servine as she put her down.
With a nod, Servine carefully released one of her vines, groaning as she let Gardevoir hold onto the end so she
could guide her to the copter. Looking at one another nervously, the officers followed and climbed aboard with the
two and Chris in tow. With a nod at one another, the copter began slowly taking off, rising above the cliff and
causing Servine to suddenly shout and point towards the camp. Setting her on the bench and taking a stand, Gardevoir
moved towards the entrance and put her hands out in front of her. "I got..." she responded, suddenly causing the tent
to fold itself and their belongings to gather together neatly before soaring up to the helicopter. One by one she
gathered things together and packed it away in the rucksack, putting it on herself before sitting back down.

As they flew through the sky, Servine looked out a window at the stars above, glancing back at Chris on the floor
before letting out a sigh and looking back at the stars sadly, noticing several shooting by. Glancing around quickly,
Servine put her hands together and shut her eyes for a moment, standing in silence before Gardevoir suddenly began
feeling around for her, causing Servine to scream in shock as Gardevoir found her and suddenly pulled her close.
Scowling with an embarrassed flush on her face, she was about to lecture Gardevoir for the surprise, but as she felt
Gardevoirs hold on her tighten, she sighed and let it go, looking back down at Chris as he lay, seemingly lifeless
as several officers kept tabs on his condition. "Pulse is weak... Steady but weak... There are countless dislocations
and fractures..." they muttered to one another. "Breathing is rough... Likely broken ribs... Sounds like blood may
have built in his lungs as well... Gonna be bad if it clots up... How he survived that fall is a mystery..." another
whispered. Feeling her trembling more and more against her, Servine glanced up at Gardevoir, who had started weeping
once more as she listened. Facing the officers, she suddenly shout out, causing them to jolt and face her direction
as she put a finger over her mouth, silently telling them to stop as she pointed at Gardevoir. Sweating, they nodded
and cleared their throats, tending to Chris in silence as light began to glow brightr and brighter outside the windows.

"Millennium City just ahead. We'll arrive at the hospital in just a moment." the pilot shout, causing the two Pokemon
to jolt as the officers began scrambling around, gathering their equipment and preparing Chris for movement. Curious,
Servine climbed back up to the window, and sure enough, the helicopter flew right over the city border, soaring high
above the sparkling utopia below them... For a moment, Servine couldn't help but open her mouth in awe, the shimmering
lights reflecting in her eyes as she quietly made an "ooooohhhh" sound, pressing her face against the window as she
watched the buildings get closer and closer as they began to descend, and after a bit of an eyefull, Servine quickly
shook her head and made her way back to Gardevoir as the copter rocked slightly, finally landing atop a towering
hospital. Acting quickly, the officers opened the entrance, allowing peramedics inside as they stepped out of the way,
allowing them to check on Chris before removing him and placing him on a bed. Caught off guard, Gardevoir quickly reached
out to them, running up behind them in a panic only to fall out of the copter as Servine tried to shout and warn her
about the drop. Pausing for a moment with her hand out, Servine shook her head with a sigh, quickly making her way out
of the copter as well as Gardevoir lay on the rooftop, groaning before raising up and shaking her head, wiping her eyes
as well while Servine gave her a nudge, watching the paramedics quickly rolling Chris off towards the elevator ahead of them.
Making a loud noise, Servine put one of her vines in Gardevoirs hand once again and started guiding her along, quickly
following the staff as they gathered in the elevator and made their way down into the building.

Facing around in all directions, Gardevoir had no idea how to handle all of the movement going on around her and Chris,
listening to the group talking simultaneously as they put their hands all over him, taking this off, inserting that...
They had quickly started covering him in IV's and put a mask over his face for oxygen, checking his eyes and more until
the elevator finally opened, allowing them to rush back out into the halls of the building. Following once again, Servine
pulled Gardevoir this way and that, with the blind Pokemon stumbling her way about with tears streaming from her eyes,
frantically asking "Whats wrong?! Where taking Chris?! What are... Doing?!" as they made their way along, finally stopping
in their tracks once the staff rushed through a pair of emergency room doors, security preventing the two Pokemon
from going in with them. "Sorry... Staff only." one of the men said. "Chris... Be with Chris!! Have to!!" Gardevoir shout,
the two standing in front of the door with their arms crossed. "You know telepathy... Not very well... But you know it.
We can't let you get in the way in there. We get you're his Pokemon but all you'll do is cause trouble. You can sit down
right over there in the waiting area until they're finished taking care of him." one of the men told her, Servine looking
towards the room nearby and trying to coax Gardevoir once again into listening. Resisting their orders, she tried to push
her way through, managing to get into the room only to suddenly hear the nurses shouting "clear!!" before sending bursts
of electricity through his body, the sound of a steady beep followed by rapid beeps ringing in Gardevoirs ears as they
talked about draining his lungs and cutting him open, causing Gardevoir to scream loudly and start sobbing uncontrollably
at the entrance as the sound of surgical tools started ringing throughout the room, causing the overwhelmed Pokemon to
wobble about before falling backwards through the doors, landing between the guards with her head hitting the floor right
in front of Servine.

Looking down at her and blinking wide eyed, Servine gave her a poke on the cheek, only for her to groan in response and
start saying "Chris... Chris..." repeatedly in a worried tone, laying limp and out cold. Looking at one another, the
guards lift her up and carried her into the waiting room, resting her on a couch as Servine followed and climbed up with
her. "Man... She's covered in blood... Think its that guys...?" one of the guards asked as they walked off, the other
shrugging in response as Servine shook her head and rubbed Gardevoir on the head, looking towards the emergency room
doors with a nervous expression...

"Chris... I'm... Sorry... Didn't... Protect... Hurt... Sorry..." Servine heard Gardevoir continue to moan, shaking her head
as she fell into a fit of unconscious anxiety...
